The business everything else grew from
SSS Fuel & Transport is the oldest business in the Sedara Senarath Group, and the one everything else grew from. Its roots reach back to the 1940s, when the late Lionel George Sedara Senarath established the family filling station at Hakmana. It began as a Mobilgas operation and later became associated with the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation.
The business passed to his brother, Sarath Sedara Senarath, and in turn to Dr Sanjaya Sedara Senarath, who built the wider Group around it. It has served the Hakmana district under three generations of the same family. The original shed still stands on Beliatta Road, and what began as a Mobilgas station is now a Ceypetco shed.
Alongside station retail, the company handles fuel-related transport and distribution, and supports commercial customers with fuel supply and the transport that goes with it.
